Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup molasses
- 2 cups flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 cup boiling water
Preparation:
Prepare waffle maker according to manufacturer's directions. Cream butter and sugar, beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs and molasses. Beat until smooth. Sift together dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with the water. Spoon into waffle maker. Cook according to waffle maker's directions. Makes 12 4-inch waffles or apprx. 3 Belgium waffles.Serve with real maple syrup.
