Ingredients:
- 6 egg yolks
- 1-1/4 cup sugar
- 1-1/4 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1-3/4 cup whipping cream, whipped
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
- 1-1/2 tablespoon Marsala
- 2- 3 ounce packages ladyfingers
- piped whipped cream
- grated unsweetened chocolate
Preparation:
Combine yolks and sugar in top of double boiler; beat at medium speed with electric mixer until thick and lemon colored. Bring water to a boil; reduce heat to low, cook for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add cheese, and beat until smooth.Fold whipped cream into cheese mixture.
Combine water, coffee and Marsala. Brush on cut sides of ladyfingers. Line sides and bottom of trifle bowl with 36 ladyfingers. Pour in half of filling. Layer remaining ladyfingers on top; cover with remaining filling. Garnish with piped cream and chocolate shavings. Cover and chill for 8 hours.
