Red, White and Blue Desserts
Desserts for a Perfect Ending to Your 4th of July Celebration

4th of July Golf Cart Parade in Peachtree City, Georgia

Here is the golf cart I decorated and drove for the 4th of July golf cart parade in Peachtree City, Georgia.

I wonder what the "boys" back in 1776 would think about our present day Independence Day celebrations? If they were here in Peachtree City, Georgia, they'd start their day watching, or perhaps participating (anyone can), in the golf cart parade. Later, I can just imagine them all gathered around the picnic table eating corn-on-the-cob, Mom's pasta salad, and some wonders fresh from the grill like barbecued shrimp, ribs and even hot dogs. They'd probably finish their meal with some juicy watermelon and one of the desserts below. The day would then end by watching the fireworks go off over Lake Peachtree.

Thanks to the all of the men and women who made it, and still make it, possible for us to be able to celebrate our independence. Have a great holiday and enjoy some of the great recipes below.

All-American Trifle
All it takes to make this patriotic trifle is whipped topping, blueberries, strawberries and angel food cake.

Carry-Along Desserts
Here are my two favorite cold desserts to take to a hot party.

Instant Ice Cream Cake
You can use strawberry, vanilla and blueberry ice cream for a festive 4th of July dessert.

Yankee Doodle Sundae
There's nothing more basic than a sundae, and this is the perfect one for the holiday.
