Ingredients:
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup pure maple syrup
- 2-1/2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup chopped raw nuts, lightly toasted
Preparation:
Grease and flour 9x5 baking pan. Heat milk and butter in small saucepan. Once butter is melted, stir in pure maple syrup. Remove from heat. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt with a wire whisk. In a large bowl, pour a little of milk mixture. Quickly stir-in eggs. Add remaining milk mixture and stir to combine. Add flour mixture. Mix until well combined. Stir in nuts. Place batter into prepared pan and bake for 1 hour. Cool in pan on wire rack for 15 minutes. Remove from pan and allow Pure Maple Syrup Bread to cool completely on wire rack. Serve with real butter.
