Poached Pears with Raspberry Sauce

Poaching the pears in white grape juice enhances the flavor.

Prep Time: 35 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups white grape juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • 6 pears, peeled and cored (leave stems on)
  • 10 ounce package frozen raspberries, partially thawed

Preparation:

Combine grape juice, sugar, and lemon juice in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil. Add pears to saucepan. Cover, reduce heat and simmer until tender. Remove and chill. Just prior to serving, puree' raspberries in blender. Serve over pears.
