Double Chocolate Biscotti uses chocolate syrup and chocolate chips for that deeper chocolate taste.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup chocolate syrup
  • 2-1/2 cup flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salte
  • 1 cup (6 ounces) miniature chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped and toasted pecans

PREPARATION:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease 2 metal loaf pans (9x5x3-inches). Cream sugar and butter. Beat in eggs and syrup. Slowly add flour, baking powder and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms. Stir in chips and nuts. Divide batter between pans. Bake for 35 minutes or until tester is clean. Remove from pans and cool for 15 minutes. Lower oven temperature to 300 degrees F. Slice loaves into 2-inch slices. Bake slices on cookie sheets for 10 minutes. Turn over and bake another 10 minutes. Cool completely. Store in airtight container.
