Ah, the The Da Vinci Code, I absolutely loved the book. Unfortunately, the movie just didn't live up to my expectations. All of the characters, except Sir Leigh Teabing played by Sir Ian McKellen, were flat. There was no excitement. I did enjoy the visuals, which means I'm sure it'll end-up being included in our vast DVD collection.

Below is a list of desserts that might have been consumed while the characters were searching for the answers to The Da Vinci Code. Enjoy!

1. Scottish Shortbread

Can't you just see these on the tray with a nice pot of tea at Sir Leigh Teabing's home? Eating a nice piece of shortbread has a calming effect on most people

2. Double Chocolate Biscotti

In honor of Leonardo Da Vinci, maybe a piece of Chocolate Biscotti might be more in order with that cup of tea.

3. Crème Brûlée

The characters spent so much time in France that at least one Crème Brûlée is in order.

4. Truffles

Personally, when I get upset and overwhelmed, the only food that helps me is chocolate. They eat a lot of truffles in France.

5. Road Food - Granola

With all of that traveling they did, by car and plane, they just had to have some road munchies. Compared to us Americans, Europeans tend to eat healthier food. (Well at least, that's what we're lead to believe.) Homemade granola makes a nice healthy snack. (Note: My family's snack is more like a ziplock bag filled with peanut candy-coated chocolates, dry roasted peanuts and pretzels. We do balance that snack with celery and carrot sticks and lots of water.)
