Top 10 Personal Family Gifts

From

This is the first Christmas it's just been the 3 of us. Not that I won't miss the rest of the family, but I'm really looking forward to this. It means game playing in our PJ's all day. We're also doing my family's Christmas traditions this year. We'll have our big meal on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day it's no-fuss, no-muss leftovers.

1. Konami Karaoke Revolution

When my husband brought home a PS/2 for my daughter, I thought what a waste. She's just not a computer game person. Of course, it was my job to find some games she'd like. Well, boy did I. She loves karaoke and these are perfect for her. She gets to pick a person to play her, the type of venue (stage, audience) and if she wants back-up and more. We've already got Volumes 1 and 2. This year I'm buying 3.

2. Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) by Konami

We bought the first one of these just before Loretta's birthday party. It was definately the hit of the party. You need to buy the dance mat, as well, which plugs into the PS/2. It teaches you the latest dances plus there are contests and more. I'm buying number 2 this year. Between the Karaoke and DDR, it's everything I can do to not play with them, while everyone is out of the house. It's so much fun!

3. Sorry!

We just love this game. We've been playing on the game I had as a child. It's kind-of smelly and falling apart. I'd like to get another one if the price is right.

4. Sewing Machine

I'll admit it. I don't sew. It's not that I can't. It's that I'm impatient. When I do, I've got a really bad and out-of-date machine. It doesn't even have instructions. I'd like to have a good sewing machine that I can use for crafting and for sewing heavy things like curtains and slipcovers. It needs to have some fancy stitching as well.

5. Drums

Besides selling food for a living, and playing golf, my husband is in an old-time rock n'roll band. He's the drummer. Unfortunately, he's still playing on the same drums he's had for 30 plus years. He needs new ones. I'm just not sure we'll be able to do the whole set at once.

6. Cranium

There are so many versions of this game that I'm still not sure which one to buy. We played this game at my sister-in-laws and loved it.

7. Monopoly

Loretta has been begging for this game. We already have Monopoly Junior, which is very similar to the regular game. It's not at all boring for the adults, because it's just a shorter version. I'm vacillating between going with the 70th Anniversary Edition or with just the regular less expensive one.

8. Something's Gotta Give

Chick Flicks are the perfect Christmas gifts for me. I just love this movie. I'm still not sure which I love more - the actual movie or just looking at that house. This also comes in a 2-Pack with Sleepless in Seattle. I only have that one taped from a movie channel.

9. Tool Chest

Don't laugh, but this is for me, not my husband. I'll admit we have several tool chests in the garage: my husband's (that doubled as a tackle box), my dad's, one we've been given and I've got 3 myself. I'd like one place to put all of the tools. A chest that has drawers that move easily. I'd love to be able to find a tool and not have to look in several places. Plus other people might be inclined to return them back to their place.

10. iPod

My daughter has been begging for this one. It's just that they're so expensive. I'll definately do a lot of price shopping on this one.
