Whenever I'm feeling under the weather, I just have to have some Lime Sherbet.
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
- 2 cups milk
- 2/3 cup lime juice
- 1 teaspoon lime zest
- 3 cups light cream (half and half)
- 6 to 8 drops green food coloring
Preparation:
Combine sugar and gelatin in a large bowl. Heat milk to almost boiling. Pour over sugar mixture and stir until dissolved. Stir in lime juice and zest. Stir in light cream and food coloring until combined. Mixture may appear curdled. Cool to room temperature. Put mixture into ice cream maker and prepare according to manufacturer's directions. Makes about 2 quarts of Creamy Lime Sherbet.
