- 1 pound box (about 3-3/4 cups) powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 - 4 tablespoons milk

This is the same buttercream that my mom made; and yes it was wonderful - but you can also add almond extract, depending on weather you can reduce milk slightly (or increase) to get desired consistency. You need vanilla to brighten the almond. I also add any coloring before the milk to insure that the frosting does not get too thin. I have also used this same frosting for my sugar cookies with several compliments. Never had a failure and I never have had anyone not love this recipe!
