What makes this pie crust recipe easier than most as it's made with oil. You don't need a pastry blender or a rolling pin.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil*
  • 2 tablespoons cold milk or water

Preparation:

Mix flour and salt with wire whisk. Stir in oil until mixed. Add water or milk until mixed completely. Place dough into middle of 8 or 9-inch glass pie plate. Spread dough out with hands covering the bottom of the plate and up the sides and over the rim. Bake according to pie recipe directions.

Makes one 8- or 9-inch pie dough.

Notes in the Margin:

*You could use extra virgin olive oil, but I'd only recommend it with a savory pie like a quiche.
