This crockpot-baked cake recipe is similar to a fruit cake except there's chocolate in the recipe.

Ingredients:
- 1-1/2 C. flour
- 1 t. baking powder
- 1/2 t. salt
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 C. (about 7 ounces) small date pieces
- 1 C. (about 8 ounces) marachino cherries, drained and sliced
- 2 C. walnuts, coarsely chopped and toasted
- 6 ounces semisweet chocolate pieces
Preparation:
Grease crockpot metal insert or 2 pound coffee can. With a wire whisk combine flour, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, beat eggs and sugar until thick. Stir in rest of ingredients. Place ingredients in prepared insert. Cover with 6 layers of paper towels. Place in crockpot. Cook on high for 2 to 3 hours. Cool pan for 10 minutes. Remove cake and cool completely on wire rack.
