Instead of the typical oatmeal topping, this Pear Crisp recipe uses gingersnaps.

- 2 - 15 ounce cans sliced pears, undrained
- 2 teaspoons lime juice
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 20 gingersnaps
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring
- 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
- Optional: Whipped or cinnamon ice cream
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease 8-inch square pan. Mix undrained pears, lime juice and cornstarch. Pour into prepared pan. Crush gingersnaps in food processor. Add powdered sugar, flour and baking powder. Continue to process. While processing, pour maple flavoring and melted butter down food shoot. Continue to process until mixture is combined. Crumble over pears. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until bubbly. Serve with whipped or ice cream.
