Coconut macaroons

Macaroons are so simple to make.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 35 minutes


  • 1/3 sup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 7 ounces (2-2/3 cups) shredded coconut
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract


Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour (or line with parchment paper) large baking sheet. In large bowl, combine sugar, flour and salt with wire whisk. With wooden spoon stir in coconut. In small bowl, stir together egg whites and extract. Pour into coconut mixture. Mix until no dry powder remains. Scoop out heaping teaspoons full of dough onto prepared cookie sheet. Bake for 20 minutes.

Makes approximately 18 cookies.

okay so I bake and decorate cakes... and I happened to use coconut on my last cake that i baked for my sister's birthday, and I dyed it blue... had plenty of left over blue coconut... of course i couldn't do much with blue dyed coconut and i was searching for recipes and happen to come across this... made it right away... it turned out delicious and blue made it look gorgeous, very easy and quick recipe yummy to taste... perfect for snacks... i used vanilla flavoring instead of almond and it was amazing... definitely recommend it to everyone!!!
