There's just nothing like a book, especially when it's your own book. Your child will not only treasure the time your spend with them in the kitchen, but also the first cookbooks you buy them. I know I still treasure my first cookbook listed below.
1. Betty Crocker's Cook Book for Boys and Girls
This was my first cookbook. It sits with honor with my other cookbooks today. Betty Crocker's Cook Book for Boys and Girls, was originally published in 1957, but it was such a popular book that it was republished in 2003. Amazingly, you can purchase both versions online.
2. Emeril's There's a Chef in My Soup
I guess we're raising her right. Emeril's There's a Chef in My Soup is our daughter's first cookbook. I'm excited to say that there is a small container of Baby Bam on the top of my refrigerator. (I'm not sure if Loretta put it there for easy access or to keep us out of it.) During the summer months, she'll be cooking dinner everyother week. I'd like more, but she keeps pretty busy.

3. Alphabake! by Debora Pearson
You can never have too many cookie cutters. Well, not only did I get an alphabet set of cookie cutters and a sheet pan, but it came with this great children's cookbook. Alphabake! by Debora Pearson is another good book to add to your child's collection.
4. Williams-Sonoma
I am very fortunate to live less than a mile from my favorite cooking store, Williams-Sonoma. They have some of the most beautiful and useful cookbooks. Being Chuck Williams and Williams-Sonoma, they couldn't leave out their future shoppers, children. Here are two of their best cookbooks for children.
