Magic Cobbler

Peaches and blackberries made a good flavor combination.

This is a great homemade cobbler recipes. Not only is it magic, but you have a choice between canned and fresh fruit.

The reason this cobbler is called a Magic Cobbler is that the topping starts out at the bottom of the pan and then "magically" moves to the top.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup plus sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1-1/2 cups fresh (or drained can) fruit*
  • Optional: Whipped or Ice Cream

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place butter in 9x13 baking pan. Put in oven until butter melts. With a wire whisk, combine flour, baking powder and sugar. Mix in milk. Pour mixture over butter in pan. Do Not Stir. Add fruit* to top of batter. Sprinkle with a little sugar. Bake for 30 minutes.

*This recipe was made with hand-picked blackberries and fresh peach slices. You may make this recipe with any of your favorite fresh or drained canned fruit or fruit combination.

Servings: 12 or more

Optional: It tastes great served with ice or whipped cream.
