Haystacks also are great for gift giving too.

These make a great treat for Halloween or any other time.

You can't get an easier than with this recipe for Haystacks a.k.a. Chocolate Spiders.

Prep Time: 25 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 12 ounce package semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 can chow mein noodles
  • 1 cup lightly salted dry roasted peanuts, coarsely chopped

Preparation:

In top of double boiler, melt chips. Remove from heat and stir in noodles and nuts. Drop by teaspoonful (I used an ice tea spoon) into lightly greased or paper-lined miniature muffin cups. Set in refrigerator until set (apprx. 20 minutes).

I have a question. I bought chow mein noodles looking for this recipe. I bought them in a can two years ago. They don't stock cans anymore and I was wondering how many ounces constitute a ""can"". I'd love to make these again, esp since Christmas is coming.
