Just imagine a quaint tea shop in a historic town. Step inside and you'll see tables topped with white linens set with colorful cups and saucers in some of the finest china patterns around. Aromas of freshly brewed tea and baked goods fill your nose. Before you have a chance to finish glancing around the shop, a handsome, older gentleman greets you carrying a teapot in one hand and a white linen napkin in the other. He motions you to table near the window.

I hope you're luckier than me, but I only get to visit a tea shop like this in Laura Childs' Tea Shop Mysteries. Her latest book Sweet Tea Revenge has the delights associated with spending time in a tea shop along with the spiciness of a murder mystery.

Thanks to Laura Childs for sharing her recipe for Dandy Devonshire Cream. It makes the perfect accompaniment for scones. When I was in England, I put Devonshire Cream a.k.a. Clotted Cream on most of the desserts I had as well.
