This recipe for Chocolate Chip Pie is very reminiscent of a soft chocolate chip cookie in a pie shell.

Prep Time: 25 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour

Total Time: 1 hour, 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 9-inch unbaked pie shell
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, lightly toasted

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine flour and sugar with a wire whisk. Stir in butter. Add eggs, one at a time. Stir in vanilla. Stir to completely combine. Stir in chips and pecans. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake for 1 hour. Tent crust edges, if necessary.

Serve with whipped or ice cream.

Makes 6 to 8 servings of Chocolate Chip Pie, depending on how pie is cut.

I too was at this memorial and this pie was visually odd However, the adventurer that I am took one bite and was SOLD. It was so good, not too sweet, not too bland. Just a great balance of everything delicious. If you make this to take to a gathering, go ahead and make 2 you will need them. Also, take the recipe with you or better yet, give this web site to all of your friends. There is not enough people know about this site.
