Not everyone is lucky enough to make it to New York for this decadent dessert at One Little West 12th. Who could resist such a wonderful combination of apples, caramel fondue, candied macadamia nuts, coconut and valhrona chocolate?
Prep Time: 25 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 pound butter
- 28 ounces condensed milk
- 1-1/2 cup dark corn syrup
- 7 ounces maple syrup
- 3 teaspoons vanilla
- 4 lady apples
- valhrona chocolate, coarsely chopped
- toasted coconut
- candied macadamia nuts, coarsely chopped
Preparation:
Heat the first 5 caramel ingredients in a fondue pot. Slice mini apples and stick with skewers. (Sprinkle with a little lemon juice if you're not eating the apples right away.) Place chocolate, coconut and macadamia nuts in 3 wide-mouthed bowls. Dip apple slices in caramel fondue allowing excess to drip back in pot. Then roll dipped apples in the chocolate, coconut and/or macadamia nuts.
