Welcome to the Desserts and Baking site on About. If you're new, or a regular, this feature should make it a little easier to find just about anything you want to know about sweets and baked goods here.I have over 100 articles, such as The History of Chocolate, Baking with Kids, Norwegian Desserts and The Absolute Need to Bake, which are archived on my site. All of my articles can be found in the Topic Menu, and are in categories such as: Breakfast Sweets, Cakes, Cookies and Candies, Favorite Articles, Frozen Desserts, Fruited Desserts, Holiday, Party, and Seasonal Desserts, Health Conscience, Pies, Cobblers, Crisps, and other Pastries, Regional and International Desserts, and Tips and Hints. You can also find them according to date written under Articles box at the top of this page. One of my favorite ways to find my own Articles and recipes is using the Search Box*, which is located at the top of every page.
Using the Search Box is also the fastest way to find a recipe. Most recipes are also listed in the Recipe Index. I am continually adding recipes to my site.
There are several ways to get even more recipes. The first way is through my weekly Newsletter. There's a new one in every issue. Also, most of my newsletters have a section called "Recipes Lost and Found". This is where I list recipe requests in hope that one of my subscribers will respond with one of their "Tried and True" recipes. I usually fill these requests by the next issue of the newsletter.
Another way to find a long lost recipe is by listing your request on my Bulletin Board (A.K.A. Forums at the top of this page). A lot of good ideas are exchanged here. Anyone can visit my Bulletin Board, but to post you must be a member. To become a Member is as simple as clicking on the "Register for Free". Next just fill-in the blanks. Un-check any unwanted services. Hit submit. Once you're submitted, it'll take you right into the forum. From then on, enter the forum through the same link. And, of course, your requests and comments are always welcome in my email box. With my volume of email, I may not be able to respond to you personally. I will try to answer most requests via my newsletter.
There is an immense community of dessert sites online. You can find most of these sites listed on my Netlinks pages. You'll find everything from Angel Food Cakes to Diabetic Desserts to Pies to Sweet Breads. There's more categories being added all of the time.
The newest section on my site is called the Buyer's Guide. The Buyer's Guide features products and tools that I can recommend. In the Guide, Top Picks is where you can find lists such as Necessary Baking Tools, My Favorite Kitchen Tools and my tool Wish List. Clicking on any of my selections will take to My Simon, a site that offers price comparisons.

* P.S. - I also use the Search Box to start my search on About for non-baking subjects. I like to see what we have first. Since About has hundreds of sites with more subjects than I can name, I can usually find a site devoted to that subject. When I don't find it here, I can also use that same box to search elsewhere online.
