Guide Picks - Kitchen Wish List
If you've ever been in my kitchen, you'd say I don't need anything. When I married my husband he had "everything" for the kitchen, but so did I. We are just now getting down to one food processor, one blender and so on. But that doesn't mean that there aren't new kitchen items I'd like to have. This is my kitchen wish list.
1) Rosle Double Shelf Spice Rack
Currently, most of my spices are located in a cabinet over the stove. It's never a good idea to put them near any heat source, but that's the only place I could put them. I have to make sure I get my spices out before I begin cooking or I'm reaching over boiling pots. This Rosle Spice Rack would be perfect on my wall. Not only would it be functional, but it makes a nice wall decoration too.
2) Polder Triple Kitchen Timer
I enjoyed every minute of my triple timer, until it finally died. I had it for 15 years. It was the perfect timer to keep up with multiple items in the oven. My new timer made by Polder can also be used as a stopwatch, and it uses a common battery I always have around the house -- AAA.
3) Presto Cool Daddy Fryer
I love homemade donuts, funnel cakes and fried shrimp, but I hate deep frying. With the fryer I have, it smells up the house, and grease gets everywhere. With the Presto Cool Daddy Fryer, there's a lid that comes down while frying. The basket is attached to the lid, so there's no dipping into the hot grease to get it. It even has its own thermostat so you don't have to fool with a thermometer.
4) Hamilton Beech Super Shooter Cookie Press
A cookie press makes the prettiest cookies, with a lot of options in shapes and designs. I have one, but it is very awkward to use. It takes all my strength to push the dough out. The Super Shooter is the new one I want. It has a better ergonomic design which makes it easier to "shoot-out" even the thickest dough. Plus it has eight design disks to make even prettier cookies.
5) KitchenAid Ultra Power Hand Mixer
There used to be a TV show character that always wanted "more power." In his case, it was stronger tools and motors. I want "more power" too, but in my case, it's a more powerful hand mixer. Yes, my absolute favorite kitchen tool is my KitchenAid Stand Mixer, but I can't get everything in the bowl. I often use my largest mixing bowl, aptly described as a baby bath, to mix large amounts of ingredients. This is the perfect hand mixer. Besides being very powerful, it also has 7 speeds.
6) Convection Toaster Oven
We just love our toaster oven, but it's showing a lot of wear. Instead of replacing it with a regular toaster oven, we'd like to get a combination convection and toaster oven. Convection ovens cook in one-third the time it takes in a normal oven. During the hot summers, how nice it will be to just throw our potatoes in there to bake. It will be the perfect place to bake small batches of cookies just before my daughter comes home from school.
7) Whirlpool and other Company-Made Microwave Hood Combination
Once I get my spices moved out of that cabinet, I would love to have a microwave over my stovetop. Our hood is old, so this would be the perfect home improvement as well. Whirlpool makes the microwave we want. It has a bi-level cooking rack as well has a turntable. It cooks fast on high (due to the 1000 watts) and then slower for a much needed warm cycle.
