Chewy Pecan Pie Bars

l/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
2 cups brown sugar, packed
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
4 eggs, beaten
2 teaspoons vanilla
l/4 teaspoon baking soda
l/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups chopped pecans
Confectioners' sugar

Pour butter into a l3x9x2-inch baking pan; set aside. In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, eggs, vanilla, baking soda and salt, mix well. Stir in pecans. Spread over butter. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Remove from oven, immediately dust with confectioners' sugar. Cool before cutting. Yield about 2 dozen.
