posted in the forum by DIANELDICOB

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup snipped fresh chives (optional)

In a bowl, combine dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. With a fork, stir in sour cream, milk and chives (if desired) until the mixture forms a ball. On a lightly floured surface, knead five to six times. Roll to 3/4-inch thickness; cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter. Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Yield: 12-15 biscuits.
