How To:Toast Nuts

Here are three ways to toast nuts:

In the MICROWAVE:

Evenly spread nuts in a flat microwavable dish. Microwave on high or full power for 3 to 4 minutes for 1/2 cup of nuts and 4 to 5 minutes for 1 cup. Stir three times during cooking. Do not over cook as nuts will continue to darken after being removed from the microwave.

In the OVEN:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a low sided pan, evenly spread nuts. Bake, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. When you can smell them, they are done.

In the FRYING PAN:

Over low heat, melt a little bit of butter. Brown nuts, while stirring constantly. Drain on paper towels.
