My Husband's Favorite Birthday Cake

My husband always asks for a "Bleeding Armadillo Cake" for his birthday. He got the idea from the movie "Steel Magnolias". It's a Red Velvet Cake shaped like an armadillo with gray icing. My cake is a traditional round layer cake with the naturally-colored cream cheese icing. I can't imagine making, or eating for that matter, gray icing.
